Joanne completed a three-year Diploma (NOCN) in Garden Design at Capel Manor Horticultural College and is a Pre-Registered Member of The Society of Garden and Landscape Designers. She is based in North London.

During her previous career as a curator she organised exhibitions at the Tate, Hayward Gallery and Barbican Art Gallery among others, collaborating with high-profile artists and architects to the highest standards. Joanne has a BA in Art History and an MA in Gallery Studies and Critical Curating.

Her work is informed by the history of art and architecture and her love of landscape and plants. Her London garden has been published in numerous magazines and was featured on the BBC’s flagship gardening programme, Gardeners’ World in 2015. It has been open to the public several times for the National Garden Scheme.

Her recent project, Jankes Barn, a Grade II Listed threshing barn in rural Essex, was honoured with two RIBA Awards and shortlisted for RIBA House of the Year 2025, featuring on Channel 4’s Grand Designs Series 8 of the same title.
