After twenty years of making exhibitions of modern and contemporary art for museums and galleries worldwide, Joanne retrained then set up her garden design practice in 2012, transferring her expert eye from one visual field to another.
With a refined sense of colour and space developed over two careers, she creates beautiful gardens in both urban and rural landscapes. Having worked to the highest international museum standards, she ensures quality and absolute attention to detail.
Her recent project on the Essex-Suffolk border, Jankes Barn, was shortlisted for RIBA House of the Year 2025 and featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs series of the same title.
